NovoNordisk to cut 9000 jobs - is this the start, more broadly, of a correction in Lifesciences?

NovoNordisk reported cutting 11% of its workforce yesterday so is this signalling a future trend in lifesciences? We've heard of ongoing challenges in DACH region with recruiters looking to support recruitment in lifesciences in USA instead. NovoNordisk had increased its workforce by 75% as demand for its weightloss drugs soared. However, increased competition as new entrants have entered the market has impacted as well as lower performance in trials of newer drugs against competitor rival products. As Trump threatens tarriffs on imported drugs in a bid to cut the cost of these drugs in USA and increase pricing in Europe, it may signal the start of a neccessary correction across the lifesciences industry which will impact hiring needs.
