Manpower franchise discloses data theft after RansomHub posts alleged stolen data - reminder to us all
A timely reminder that data protection is still as important as it ever was. Even more so for those impacted by GDPR, and select countries, personal data will include business email addresses. If you receive an expected email, view it with scepticism. Don't click on links from emails you don't recognise. It's so easily done.
Scammers are using increasingly sophisticated methods of tricking people into opening emails and clicking links. As an example, recently we've seen emails being sent from companies seemingly recruiting, but you only need to hover over the email address, you'll see it's a different domain to one you'd expect to see. Some of these include emails from 'Tesla', 'Ferrari' and 'RedBull' and they are using content that is available in the public domain to create a targeted message. If it is an unexpected outreach, trust your gut and do some research first. It will save you from a lot of hassle in the future...
