Navigating Entrepreneurship: A Symphony of Care, Expertise, and Partnership
Embarking on the entrepreneurial journey is a profound mix of passion, experience, and a deep-seated desire to make a difference. My own journey, a few years ago, marked by a commitment to work/life balance, years of recruitment experience, strong business acumen, and a drive to succeed, is inseparable from my role as a single caregiver to 3 children, two with special needs and one with complex health problems - the need to balance caring responsibilities and still keep a feeling of self-worth and challenge my intellect.
Central to my decision was a commitment to work/life balance—a delicate equilibrium that often eludes those entrenched in traditional work structures.
The decision to leverage my years of recruitment experience wasn't just about knowing the industry inside out; it was about bringing a wealth of knowledge to redefine the recruitment process. Each interaction, each placement, reflects the culmination of years spent understanding the nuances of matching not just skills, but ambitions and personal circumstances.
The unique fabric of my journey is woven with the threads of caring responsibilities. As a caregiver, I faced the challenge of juggling professional commitments with the need to take children to medical appointments and fulfil general caregiving responsibilities.
My consultancy provided ad hoc services to small to medium-sized recruitment agencies, offering research, website writing, business development planning, executive search for C-suite roles, and general business improvement advice. Over time, one recruiter client became my biggest client, and when they proposed a full-time role within their organisation, it was a no-brainer. The owner shared my ethos, and with five children under five, he could relate, ensuring that I could continue my commitment to work/life balance and caring responsibilities whilst also providing a whole new host of challenges to keep my mind active.
This journey eventually led me to Auxeris, where it has become almost a quest to create an environment where individuals can thrive professionally without sacrificing their personal lives. At Auxeris, we believe that success is not only measured by professional achievements but also by the fulfilment individuals experience in their personal lives - by providing the support independents need, we take away some of the burden that goes hand in hand with setting up solo and helps maintain that much needed work/life balance.
